More Rescues & News from Old Friends

This week we have had some photo’s of Dori the 3 legged cat and as you will see she is smiling like the Cheshire Cat who got the Cream!

We have also received a picture from Buddy, who was one of Whiskers kittens who we managed to get out of Iraq back in May 2009.  Check out Whiskers page for pictures of Buddy when he was just a baby and look at him now!

Also a new picture of Miss Kitty has arrived and she has finally made friends with the dog of the house!  Miss Kitty left Iraq in March 09 after several weeks of drama trying to keep her safe on base!

Oso has now commenced the final leg of her journey home to the States, having spent a few days with the vet this week due to picking up a sickness bug and being off colour for a few days, but she is just fine now.  More news on Oso to follow.

Sandbag, Dirtbag, Royal and Hesco all got neutered/speyed this week.  Dirtbag had to have invasive surgery due to one of his testicles not descending but all have come through the surgery fighting fit.  I will be visiting them over the next couple of weeks so will post more pictures then.  This gang will be leaving quarantine on 31 March so they will finally get to their new forever homes and live out long happy lives.

Working alongside Nowzad Dogs we have also managed to get Sal, Bear and Buddy to a safe location where they will prepare for their journeys home.  Nowzad are also now trying to help Lola and Kandy, so please take the time to join Lola and Kandy’s Facebook pages and also support Nowzad Dogs with fundraising to get these animals out.

Donations can be made here and remember to tick the GIFT AID box if you are a UK Tax Payer.

Donna is one of the less fortunate animals of Afghan who has spent a year at the Afghan shelter and it looks like we are now moving close to finding her a home outside Afghanistan.  More news on Donna to follow.

Winston in Iraq is now coming close to the deadline when we need to move him.  We are still fundraising for Winston so please help us if you can.  Winston also got to meet a Florida Marlin Cheerleader this week so he really is a special boy now!

As I am sure you can see, BAR is working more and more closely with Nowzad Dogs on an increasing basis and this week I finally got to meet Pen from Nowzad and the famous Nowzad the dog and his pals.  We will continue to work alongside Nowzad to help save these animals so please do support us in our mission.  We need to raise funds for the increasing amount of rescues that are being taken on so please donate what you can and spread the word!  There are going to be busy times ahead so please remember it does not necessarily need to be a huge amount of cash that you donate, every penny helps and on top of this you can help by donating items for raffle prizes, items to sell on the Nowzad Ebay Shop, and basic medical supplies such as latex gloves, wormers, flea treatments and collars and leads.

Thats just about all for this update but please keep spreading the word and checking back with us on a regular basis for more updates.
